Warehouse Operative - Fixed Term
Join our Warehouse team for a fixed-term opportunity to build new skills, support accurate stock management and make a real difference in a safe, collaborative workplace.
Full Time: 37.5 hours per week,
Monday to Friday 08:30 – 16:30 with flexibility for holiday cover
Up to 6 months, subject to extension.
Job Overview:
We are hiring a Warehouse Operative who will have a key role within our Logistics Team and report to the Stock & Systems Manager. Working both individually and part of a team, the main focus of this role is to assist in the management of the stock inventory for Damart UK via the warehouse management data systems, tools and processes.
There is a need in this role to use mechanical handling equipment and work at heights, with a view to working towards gaining a forklift truck licence.
Key areas of responsibility:
•Work closely with the team to implement stock management procedures
•Maximising stock accuracy via system checks and stock reconciliation
•Foster an open approach and communication style with peers and colleagues and challenge/investigate stock inaccuracies
•Work closely with the operations stock manager on sub projects to maintain stock files without compromising customer service
•Ensure Health and Safety policy and procedures are adhered to
•Perform other duties as requested, if necessary, in other areas of the warehouse
•Flexibility to work and to learn new skills within other areas of the warehouse
What we’re looking for:
A flexible, confident individual to lead problem solving activities but equally able to escalate issues when necessary. You will learn new tasks quickly, whilst paying attention to detail and be comfortable using your initiative. Being organised is important too, as is keeping a safe and tidy workspace.
